During the 2025/26 winter tourist season, about 265 thousand tourists arrived in the city of Karakol. This was reported by the city mayor’s office. A meeting of the tourism development council was held at the Karakol mayor’s office with the participation of representatives of the tourism sector. The meeting summed up the results of 2025 and discussed plans for 2026. According to the mayor’s office, a total of 264,859 tourists arrived in Karakol in 2025, of which 211,199 were organized groups and 53,660 arrived independently. Currently, there are 157 accommodation facilities in the city that can accommodate up to 3,200 tourists per day. During the meeting, issues of accurate tourist statistics, development of new tourist products, and strengthening cooperation between the mayor’s office and business representatives were discussed. The structure of the council for the systematic development of tourism, which includes 15 members, was also presented.
