This 3-day overland journey takes you deep into the wild and less-traveled regions of central Kyrgyzstan, far from typical tourist routes. Starting in Bishkek, the route crosses dramatic mountain passes, vast alpine valleys, remote villages, and rugged canyons before reaching the authentic heart of the Naryn Region.
Unlike classic lake-focused itineraries, this route is about raw landscapes and real local life—from the green expanses of Suusamyr Valley to the red rock formations around Kyzyl-Oi and the remote roads of Kazarman. Expect long but rewarding drives, constantly changing scenery, and a deeper understanding of rural Kyrgyz culture.

This is a road-based adventure, but don’t underestimate it:

Day 1: Bishkek → Kyzyl-Oi Village
Your journey begins early in the morning with departure from Bishkek toward the southern part of Kyrgyzstan.
The drive takes you over the scenic Too-Ashuu Pass (3,600 m), one of the most impressive mountain passes in the country. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, traditional villages, wide alpine fields, and the majestic Tien Shan mountains.
After descending, you will enter the vast Suusamyr Valley, known for its endless green pastures . Here, you will stop for lunch at a local café.
In the afternoon, the journey continues toward Kojomkul village, where you can visit a monument dedicated to Kojomkul — one of the strongest men in Kyrgyz history.
From there, you will drive through a picturesque gorge with unique rock formations before arriving in Kyzyl-Oi village, a charming remote settlement surrounded by red mountains.
Upon arrival, you will check in at a guesthouse, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Kyzyl-Oi → Naryn
After breakfast, you will continue your journey into one of the most remote and authentic regions of Kyrgyzstan.
Your first stop will be at the peaceful Ak-Kol Lake, located at around 1,700 meters above sea level. Surrounded by mountains, this quiet alpine lake offers a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Continuing the drive, you will pass through an area of striking red canyon formations, where we will make a short stop for photos and to take in the dramatic landscape.
You will then reach Kazarman village, where you will stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, the journey continues over a mountain pass at approximately 2,450 meters, offering wide panoramic views over the open valleys and rugged terrain of the Naryn region, where you may also see local livestock grazing.
By late afternoon, you will arrive in Naryn town, where you will check in at a guesthouse, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 3: Naryn → Bishkek
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Bishkek.
The first highlight of the day is Eki-Naryn, where two rivers of different colors merge into one — a unique and scenic natural point.
From here, the road follows a dramatic mountain gorge, with views of steep rocky cliffs, the river flowing below, and dense spruce forests along the slopes.
You will then continue driving toward Kochkor village (approximately 5 hours), where you will stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, the journey continues toward Bishkek through the impressive Boom Gorge, known for its changing landscapes — from narrow canyon walls to open valleys, with views of traditional villages along the way.
Arrival in Bishkek is expected in the evening.
